You’re in good hands with the Kama’aina Kayak and Snorkel Eco-Ventures Team! All of our waterfront staff are lifeguard, CPR, first aid, AED certified. We also all have the State of Hawaii boating and ocean safety certification. We are also ACA (American Canoe Association) certified ocean kayak instructors and US Sailing certified instructors. We are recognized as a Certified Sustainable Eco-Tour Operator by the Hawaii Ecotourism Association, and two of our guides have had the distinction of winning the HEA’s Sustainable Tour Guide of the Year (in 2013 and 2018). Our staff have attended Hawaii Marine Animal Response training and NOAA’s Oahu Ocean Awareness Training. We have unique backgrounds, but all of our waterfront staff have one thing in common: a passion for enjoying, preserving, and protecting Hawaii’s beautiful marine ecosystems and culture. And we want to share that passion with you!

Megan is originally from Minnesota and moved to Oahu last June with her husband, who is a Marine stationed here. When she’s not working she enjoys hiking, trying all sorts of different workouts at the gym, eating, and hanging at the beach with her husband and her husky, Thor.

Originally from Wilmington, Delaware, Andy came to Hawaii in 2008 in search of a career in ocean eco-tourism. Where better than Hawaii to be able to kayak and snorkel year-round? The years go by like days in Hawaii, probably because of that endless summer feel, and like never land, you grow old but you don’t grow up. One thing that hasn’t changed is Andy’s passion for sharing the wonders of Hawaii’s marine ecosystems with others. A member of the Holokai Kayak and Snorkel team since 2013, Andy is a proud steward of He’eia State Park and Kane’ohe Bay.

Laura’s passion is to promote environmental awareness through engaging people in fun outdoor activities. As an avid conservationist and nature enthusiast, she actively volunteers with a local non-profit organization, Sustainable Coastlines Hawaiʻi, to help keep Hawaiʻi’s beaches clean and educate community members about plastic pollution. Laura received her Bachelor’s in Marine Ecology and Conservation from the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa and is currently pursuing her Master’s in Conservation Biology. When she’s not at work, studying, or volunteering, you can most likely find her outdoors; at the beach, in the water diving or surfing, or hiking up a mountain.
